Take a closer look at what's inside your Trak Planner
THE BASICS
The Trak Planner is designed to easily fit into a backpack (8.5 x 11) and a handy size to fit on the school desk.
You can even fold it backwards, in half, to save space.
The months are different colors to help students navigate and there is a weekly page marker to take you right to the current week.
The cover page has a convenient place to write down classes schedules, rooms, times, teachers/professors and personal student information.
HOW TO USE YOUR TRAK PLANNER
This section gives the student instructions on how to use their planner. This is the basics of using the trak planner at home, what do to on the weekend, how to use backward planning and so much more.
Included is a Quick Start Guide for all the things students should be scheduling into their planner.
There are easy to follow diagrams that walk the student through exactly how to fill out the weekly pages.
MONTHLY SNAP SHOT
At the beginning of each month, the student will take an extra five to fifteen minutes to fill out the Monthly Snap Shot. This is where they look back at each class grade and note their progress.
They will also list missing assignments, note quizzes and tests that need to be made up and carry forward events or unfinished items from the past month. How did they do? How were their test scores? They will figure out where they need to focus and write it down so they can follow through.
They also can celebrate the things they did well and write down the things they need to improve on. This is the students time to reflect on the past month and get on trak for the upcoming month.
NOTE: EVERY WEEKEND THE STUDENT WILL TAKE 5-15 MINUTES TO GET THE NEXT WEEK OF THEIR PLANNER FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND READY TO GO! PARENTS SHOULD COMMUNICATE ANY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS TO THE STUDENT
WEEKLY CALENDAR PAGES
There is plenty of room to write down homework and test dates in the special color stripe area for each class.
Then the student will use the white area to write in other things such as, what they need to read, reminders for homework and other details regarding each class. They will check off each item as they complete them.
There are pre-designed spaces for the “Core 4” classes - Math, Science, History and English plus they will write in their other elective classes such as Choir, Art, Conditioning, Spanish, Band etc. in the open rows.
There is plenty of room to write down the important details for up to eight classes.
SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES SECTIONS.
Students will add events and appointments to the scheduled activities area for each day. They can block out the entire time they will be busy so they know what free time is left for homework, studying and friends.
For example, if they had volleyball practice from 6:00pm to 8:00pm but they get out of school at 2:30pm then they might schedule their homework time from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
By scheduling their activities they can view the open or unscheduled time that they are free to do homework, work on projects, exercise or socialize.

AND SO MUCH MORE:
There are many other sections and tools in the trak planner such as:
1) The Big Picture: Capture the overall view of the students year and fill in major events and activities,
2) Monthly Calendars: Use the monthly calendars to quickly capture events then transfer those events into the weekly pages as they do the weekly updates. Use the monthly calendar to figure out how many weeks or days they have to work on a project, or check when holidays are, write in birthdays and special events. It is the students overall view of the month.
3) Research Paper and Lab Report Sections: Everyone has a paper or lab report due for at least one class or two. These are the students sections to start chunkin' it down into manageable pieces and get those pieces into their daily and weekly schedule. Break down the sections of the paper, find out what the teacher requires and schedule it. Make sure they schedule enough time, teens tend to under estimate the time it will take to research, review, write and perfect a paper. Schedule plenty of time and transfer that time commitment into the students weekly schedule pages.
4) Reference Pages: Some great quick reference guides for science, math and geography.
5) Academic Success Guidelines: Every student wants to excel in school and make their parents proud. We have put together some top strategies of successful students for in the classroom, at home and preparing for tests.
6) Pages to capture your thoughts and creativity: Writing, drawing, graph and tangle!
(Did you know that doodling relieves stress in the teen brain)
